The Dayton City Commission is supposed to be like a board of directors, overseeing a city manager who is supposed to be leading our city.
It hasn't worked like that in a long time.
The Mayor is supposed to be a ceremonial figurehead. Well, we've had the latter part right, with the seat being bought and paid for by special interests.
I hope to bring a voice of the people to the commission, and to empower the city manager to lead (and we'll have to see if the city manager can step-up into a leadership role).
With special interests putting so much money into Mayor McLin and Commissioner Whaley's campaigns, it will take a lot of volunteers to help, and some money.
My goal is to raise and spend $10,000 in the sixty days before the election, and have at least 250 volunteers spending at least 4 hours on the campaign.
Please sign up for an account. Start reaching out to voters we have in our database- and talking to them. Ask them if the current political machine has been working for them.
Chances are they'll say no. Your job- make sure they vote for change.
Thank you
