This has already happened. The city and RTA bought the system I was championing. They haven’t implemented it correctly, or expanded it fast enough, but it’s a start.

It won’t be long till we’re dealing with dockless electric scooters and self-driving cars. We need a commissioner who thinks about these things pro-actively.

When I first proposed a bike share system to Dayton, we could have been in on the leading edge. Now, we’ll be just another follower. Cleveland may beat us to it. Bicycle sharing systems would reinvigorate Downtown as well as help solve major parking problems for Sinclair and UD as well as for the Dayton Dragons and Riverscape. Building bike lanes is nice- having bicycles there for everyone is amazing. It will put us on the map as a world class city and help protect the environment as well.
